After a visit with Glenn a few weeks ago I decided to elevate it to a new project.<\/p>\n<p>Writing that post now would be redundant considering <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkvitamin.com\/features\/design\/how-crap-is-your-site-design\">Mike Rundle&#8217;s article<\/a> published last week on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkvitamin.com\/\">Vitamin<\/a>. I&#8217;ve used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0321193857\/sr=8-1\/qid=1145629450\/ref=sr_1_1\/103-3758332-9339823?%5Fencoding=UTF8\">Robin William&#8217;s<\/a> C.A.R.P. (or other memorable anagram of those four letters) for years when teaching developers and clients about the basic elements of visual design. It&#8217;s an easy means to understand why effictive designs work.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend reading Mike&#8217;s article if you are a developer. It&#8217;s a good overview of the four basic elements. Using these principles in your own form and screen layouts will increase the value of both form and function.<\/p>\n<p>I might still write a short series that goes a little more in depth on each.
